Every year, more than 400,000 people flock to the Boardwalk Weekend festival in Virginia Beach for a few days of fun in the sun. Originally conceived as an event to celebrate the spirit and camaraderie of the Virginia Beach area and to draw in visitors who might not be familiar with what Virginia Beach is all about, Boardwalk Weekend is now one of the most popular, well-attended events of the entire year for the city.
This year marks the 44th anniversary of Boardwalk Weekend and it’s already looking like it will be the biggest and best event yet!
Boardwalk Weekend will run from Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1 and will be situated from 2nd Street up through 36th Street on the Virginia Beach oceanfront. There are tons of live music performers scheduled to take part in the event, including Eric Paslay, Steel Pulse, The Connells, Langhorne Slim & The Law, and more.
There is also going to be plenty of excellent food options available with attendees getting the chance to eat crab cakes, Italian ice, and other local cuisine. And of course, there will be lots of outdoor shopping available for those who want to pick up a great deal and take something home with them. Some of the other featured events include an 8K and 5K run, a grand parade, a fireworks extravaganza, a volleyball tournament, and a youth art show!
Does this sound like fun to you? Then should definitely mark the Boardwalk Weekend on your calendar. It will be open from 12 p.m. through 11 p.m. on September 29, 10 a.m. through 11 p.m. on September 30, and 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. on October 1.
